It’s on again! The Nambucca Valley Arts Council’s 2017 Biennial Art Exhibition will be on show for a week from Sunday September 24 to Sunday October 1 in the Nambucca Community and Arts Centre, Ridge St. Nambucca. A record 365 paintings have been entered by both local and interstate artists as well as photographic work and craft items including ceramics, fabric items, fused glass and sculptures. Also featured is a Youth Section. Niomi Sands, Gallery Curator at the Glasshouse Regional Gallery, Port Macquarie, will be judging the entries with Colleen Myhill judging the Photography Section.
Official opening and preview will be on Saturday September 23 from 7pm when prizes will be announced. Mayor Rhonda Hoban will open the exhibition. Drinks and light supper will be provided, entry fee $10 (exhibiting artists free). All welcome. Opening hours 9.30 am to 4.30 pm Sunday September 24 to Saturday 30 and 9.30 am to 1.00 pm Sunday October 1. Entry fee $3, exhibiting artists and children accompanied by adults free.
The NVAC thanks local businesses and others for their generosity in sponsoring the exhibition, without whom the exhibition would not be possible. We also thank the family of Betty Crocker who have provided funding for the Betty Crocker Memorial Art Prize of $1,000 for best work in the exhibition and $500 for the NVAC Members’ Prize.
