Things to do when it is wet
Weather conditions in the Nambucca Valley are usually great—but sometimes it does rain. In most cases the weather clears after a day or two. The following list may give you some ideas on things to do when it is wet.
The Heritage Town of Bowraville
– is known as “the Verandah Post Town “as the roofline of many of the buildings overhang the main street footpath. It is possible to keep dry in all except the heaviest downpour.

The Bowra Hotel

At Scotts Head Recreation Reserve it is possible to enjoy a BBQ even in the rain –gas BBQ and picnic tables are under cover on the R side as you drive to the Surf Club.

As well as the two museums at Bowraville, Mary Boulton’s Pioneer Cottage
at Macksville, and the Headland Museum,
Nambucca Heads, are great spots to while away a wet afternoon.
Needle crafters can spend hours in The Remnant Basket Macksville admiring quilts and other projects, selecting materials or joining a class, Ph 6568 1829. If you are into Scrap-Booking ten Paperklipz is the place to go. There are many other craft, antique and collectable shops to discover in Macksville.
The Valley Gym
and The Nambucca – Indoor Sports Centre & Pool,

Travel further a field to Dorrigo Rainforest Centre where an inactive display guides visitors through different aspects of the World Heritage listed rainforest.

If these suggestions haven’t solved the problem of what to do on a wet day might like to borrow a book from the library, hire a DVD or wander along to the local club. It doesn’t rain very often – and the raindrops are unpolluted and warm!
