Date: Fri 02/10 - Mon 05/10/2009 (long weekend) 2009
Venue: Macksville Showground
Come and see the spectacular Dog Agility Grand Prix 2009, for the second time held at the Macksville Showground!
This is one of the ultimate events in Australian Dog Agility and attracts around 150 competitors and their families.
The 11th annual Grand Prix, run by the Agility Dog Association of Australia (ADAA), will be held for the first time at the Macksville Showgrounds over the long weekend in October.
If you would like to see dogs flying over hurdles, powering through tunnels, zipping through a slalom of upright poles and scaling ramps of different sizes, then this is the event to visit! Come and cheer along our smallest dog 'Maggie' (a mini daschund!!) to scale a ramp of over a metre! Dogs of all sizes and breeds – from the very smallest, such as a daschund; to some of the biggest such as a standard poodle, including many of our ever popular Australian working breeds - compete as a team with their owner against the clock to negotiate various obstacle courses.
This event attracts over 150 competitors and their dogs from around the country each year. Events commence on the Friday (2 October) night with the 24 Weave Pole Challenge (where you can see dogs slalom through 24 upright poles in mere seconds!) and continue with 3 full days of agility over the long weekend.

Back to Bowra |
Date: Saturday & Sunday 3 and 4 October 2009 2009
Venue: Bowraville Town Centre
The festival is held in the beautiful sunny Nambucca Valley on the Mid North Coast, located halfway between Brisbane and Sydney. Our Hinterland town is surrounded by forests, farmland and national parks and is within 15 minutes drive of some of the most pristine beaches on the coast.
Bowraville was once the cedar getting capital of the area and welcomes all to a day of music, arts and crafts, games and activities, sideshows and stalls; with something for everyone. Try your luck at activities the whole family can enjoy, watch the parade of floats, see the Tug O' War and sample our local cuisine.
Bowraville is a town of contrast with a main street lined with footpaths shaded by verandahs, museums, art galleries and a treasure trove of Aboriginal art and culture. For an update on the festival program please see http://bowraville.nsw.au/events
The Back to Bowra Committee is seeking community support to ensure that this year's event is a success. Please contact Cherie at the Bowraville Post Office on 6564 7169 or Hector 0n 0488 542 863.
